Jensen was inspired to coach while playing summer league for Jim Calhoun (now a UCONN legend) at Northeastern University, alongside Reggie Lewis (Boston Celtics 1987-93).
Despite being "too short" to make the D1 big-show, the love of the game's intensity and intelligence drove Jensen. He picked up travel league coaching positions for experience with YMCA, AAU, Jr. NBA, JCC, ARC and then at High School level. He’s head coached for Renaissance Academy, Delphi Academy and Blair IB Magnet before landing at San Marino.
Coach Jensen’s teams have earned 5 League Titles including Back-to-Back Undefeated seasons with Delphi Academy. He was the Pasadena Star News Coach of the Year in 2008. He's accumulated a 144-90 record as a head coach at California High Schools.
In the off-season, the 41 year-old Jensen is an entrepreneur who "coaches" 70 plus employees as President of a merchant services company and moonlights as a business consultant in his "spare-time".
Mr. Jensen values family above all, is happily married for 18 years to his wife who's a private school Director and Human Rights activist. They have two dynamic 11 and 12-year-old boys (who don’t play basketball… yet).
